This little etsy shop site sells my signature fragrance line that was founded in 2010, as a performance art project. I see these perfumes treading the line between product and art. The bodies wearing these fragrances are new sites-- the project scope and literal size grows with each new person carrying the olfactory work into their personal contexts. Many of these perfumes started out as performance pieces, some were parts of installations, others were created for exhibition purposes.
For 10 years I had a deconstructed clothing line, called Frocky Jack Morgan, and while I sourced garments to repurpose, I started a parallel resale business. I see the resale arm of my practice as honing my eye, finding juxtapositions, and demonstrating the value of less waste for my children who very rarely receive new clothing or toys. I sell through Antique and Vintage Malls, as well as online here. I see myself as a stylist repurposing fast fashion pieces alongside handmade, couture, and vintage. Many objects are worn or stained or broken to the point that other pickers would overlook them, but my aim through the merchandising of such objects is to re-contextualize them, and allow the viewer to reconsider their worth. My vintage practice has lasted decades, and is a family heritage dating back to my great grandmother whose wire hangers wrapped in plastic bags hang in my closet to this day.
